IT Technical Writer

Location: Dublin City Centre

Salary: €40-50k DOE

Our client, a global IT RegTech Solutions company offering services across the financial services industry, is seeking to hire an experienced Technical Writer to join their central Dublin office.

The Technical Writer will be responsible for the production of client facing software product documentation i.e. technical guides and manuals, internal technical documentation and product marketing content as used in product brochures and product copy for market facing website.

You will work in the global product management team and have daily interaction with technical engineering and marketing teams in Dublin, New York, Stockholm, Valencia and Amsterdam.  You will be capable of explaining complex information in a clear and concise manner and be responsible for reviewing and tracking engineering changes on a day-to-day basis with a view to keeping external & internal documentation current and relevant.


The successful candidate will have relevant experience, an excellent command of the English as a first-language and extensive experience using publishing software, be proficient in image capturing, editing and manipulation of text and show great attention to detail.

Key Qualifications and Attributes:

  • Min 2 years technical writing experience
  • Previous softare product documentation experience
  • Strong Ms Office skills, with emphasis on Word, Excel & Visio and PDF editing suites
  • Strong analytical ability
  • Extremely high attention to detail
  • Ability to create professional-looking content
  • Ability to work under presssure and deliver results to tight schedules
  • Experience with HTML tools would be a valuable bonus
  • Strong understanding of software product lifecyle
  • English as a first-language


  • Write content for client and internal documentation
  • Manage content delivery for software releases
  • Work with Implmentation team on creating implementation process documentation
  • Revise and identify areas for improvement in existing documentation to streamline the structure and identify the mangement of documentation
  • Help sales, marketing and product teams create market facing material e.g. product brochure & website content
  • Work closely with support teams and product managers in identifying issues that can be resolved by improved documentation/guidance


  • Basic understanding of financial services industry,
  • Knowlege of investments or fund industry, a definite advantage
  • Knowledge / experience of regulatry reporting a distinct advantage
