Store Manager – Outdoor Retailer

Location: Dublin City Centre

Salary: €34,000 – 36,000 per annum, DOE

Our client, a well-known high street retailer of outdoor wear and accessories is seeking to hire a Store Manager for one of their Dublin based stores.  The ideal candidate will have a passion for outdoor activities and/or proven experience working for a similar business.  You should enjoy playing a part in inspiring people to get outdoors by providing the best kit and product expert advice to customers to help them enjoy their time outdoors pursing camping, running, cycling, skiing, hiking etc.


As a Store Manager, you will be responsible for all aspects of day to day running of a retail store, developing the business and managing a retail sales team.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Day to day management of a retail sales team including mentoring, training and recruitment
  • Leading team members to supporting them to achieve personal/business goals and targets
  • Planning, organising and rostering of staff
  • Ensuring a high level of customer service excellence is delivered at all times
  • Maintaining stock levels on the sales floor
  • Implementing promotions and window campaigns in a timely manner
  • Ensuring the growth and profitability of the store through effective merchandising and utilisation of floor space.
  • Overseeing stores finance, administrative and security procedures in line with company policies and procedures
  • Monitoring sales performance and analysing sales statistics
  • Managing and reconciliation store takings, cash management and banking
  • Acting as branch key holder, taking accountability for security of the store premises
  • Ensuring Health & Safety training and practices are maintained


  • Knowledge of the outdoor retail market and a proven track record in store management
  • Proven experience in managing retail sales staff and ensuring the store remains cost efficient
  • Strong financial acumen, with the ability to read, understand and interpret sales statistics
  • Effective in managing promotional and merchandising initiatives to generate sales and increase store revenue
  • Have a hands-on approach to management
  • Possess a strong interest in the outdoors
